Heurigen-style sharing spread
A cold sharing spread for a relaxed reception, summer celebration or later evening.
- Farmhouse bread, Liptauer spread and herb quark
- Sliced roast beef with horseradish and pickled gherkins
A new home may not yet be fully unpacked or equipped. Housewarming food needs to suit the space actually available, with a clear handover and a selection that works when guests arrive at different times.
Plan this occasion
Check the fridge, workspace, sink and power sockets before choosing hot and cold food. Do not let an unconnected cooker become an unspoken part of the plan; discuss any extra equipment and suitable surfaces explicitly.
Guests may want to see several rooms and arrive at different times. A fixed serving point away from narrow passages and some available seats prevent plates, glasses and visitors all passing through the same doorway.

Give the staircase, door number, floor and an available handover contact. Plan space for returnable items, packaging and used tableware too; after a move, the space that looked free before the party can quickly disappear.
It depends on the available facilities and menu. Discuss missing chilling or hot holding before making the actual plan.
A clear selection with agreed portions and replenishment can help; appropriate storage and serving times depend on the menu.
Agree this beforehand. Returns, collection and disposal are separate tasks; selecting food does not settle them.
