After-work reception
Flexible arrivals with small hot and cold portions. Establish whether food replaces dinner.
An after-work reception, a winter buffet or a shared dinner: choose the format around your team celebration. Plan for different arrival times, speeches, plant-based options and the final serving round from the start.

A buffet allows flexible choices, while a plated meal creates a shared start. At a party straight after work, arrival times may vary. Establish when everyone can expect a complete meal and whether a small reception beforehand would help.
One possible menu starts with pumpkin soup, continues with mushroom ragout and sliced bread dumplings or herb chicken with root vegetables, then finishes with an apple-cinnamon dessert. A vegan version also requires adapting the dumplings, sauce and dessert. Final choices depend on season and availability.
Keep a slot for speeches clear of active food service. Discuss alcohol-free drinks alongside other beverage preferences. Staffing and equipment plans must account for setup before the working day ends, the last serving round and collection. An early enquiry helps but does not confirm availability.
Food, staff, drinks, delivery and equipment are agreed individually. Only the services in the confirmed proposal are binding.
Prepare your event briefSmall portions may suit a short reception. If the event replaces dinner, plan a complete meal and sufficient quantities. Consider the duration, when guests last ate and the rest of the evening together.
Collect actual portion counts before finalising the menu. A complete plant-based alternative includes the main, sides, sauce and any dessert. Vegan does not automatically mean allergen-free; discuss ingredients and cross-contact separately.
Check setup before the working day ends, serving surfaces, power, hot holding and the final round. Agree where used tableware is collected and when pickup is possible. The date, staffing and equipment require confirmation.
